Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how The Last Factory ("we", "us", "the Game") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about what data we do and do not collect.

1. The Short Version

We collect as little data as possible. The Game runs locally on your device. Your factory, progress, and settings are stored on your device in your browser's local storage or the app's sandboxed data. We do not have access to your saves.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information through the Game itself.
  • We do not track your in-game behaviour, play time, or actions.
  • We do not use analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting.
  • We do not serve ads or share data with advertisers.

2.2 Data That May Be Collected by Platforms

If you purchase or download the Game through a third-party platform (Apple App Store, Google Play Store, itch.io), that platform may collect data according to its own privacy policy. We receive:

Platform What we receive
App Store / Google Play Aggregate sales data (units sold, revenue, country). No individual user data.
itch.io Purchase email (only if you opt in to receive updates). Purchase amount.
Web (browser play) Nothing. No server, no accounts.

2.3 Crash Reports

The Game does not currently include a crash-reporting system. If we add one in a future update, it will be opt-in and this policy will be updated before activation. Crash reports would contain only technical data (device model, OS version, error stack trace) and no personal information.

2.4 Cloud Saves (Future Feature)

If cloud save functionality is added in a future update, it will require you to create or link an account. At that time:

  • We would collect only the minimum data required (an identifier and your save data).
  • Save data would be encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • You would be able to delete your cloud data at any time.
  • This policy will be updated before the feature launches.

3. Local Storage

The Game stores your factory save data, settings, and preferences in your browser's localStorage or the app's local data container. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings or by uninstalling the app.

4. Children's Privacy

The Game is intended for players aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since the Game collects no personal data in its current form, there is no data to disclose, delete, or restrict under COPPA, GDPR-K, or similar regulations.

5. Third-Party Services

The Game does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, social media, or tracking services. The landing page (this website) may use basic hosting-provider logs (IP address, request timestamp, user agent) as part of standard web server operation. We do not use these logs for tracking or profiling.

6. Data Retention

Since we do not collect personal data through the Game, there is nothing to retain. Platform purchase records are retained according to each platform's policies, which are outside our control.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have the right to:

  • Access any personal data we hold about you.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Object to processing of your data.
  • Data portability.

In practice, because we do not collect personal data through the Game, there is typically no data to action these rights against. If you believe we hold data about you, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

8. International Users

The Game is available worldwide. Since the Game processes no personal data on our servers, there are no cross-border data transfers to disclose.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the Game's data practices change (e.g. adding cloud saves or crash reporting). Material changes will be announced through the Game or our website before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
